Pesco chief apprised of industrialists’ issues

PESHAWAR: A delegation from the Industrialists’ Association Peshawar (IAP) met Chief Executive Officer of Peshawar Electric Supply Company (Pesco) Engr Akhtar Hamid Khan at the Wapda House and apprised him about the issues faced by industrialists.

Led by Chairman of the Industrialists Association Peshawar (IAP) Standing Committee on Pesco Riaz Arshad, the delegation comprised Senior Vice President Haris Mufti, Vice President Farhad Asfandyar, Senior Vice Chairman of IAP Standing Committee on Pesco Malik Niaz Ahmad, association member Usman Elahi, and Secretary Wasiullah Khan.

The delegation put forward several proposals to address the issues of industrialists. They advocated for the appointment of SDO EI as a member of the IAP standing committee on Pesco and urged the formulation of a mechanism for bill payment extensions by reviewing policies adopted in other provinces.

The delegation stressed the need for uniformity in billing cycles, echoing the procedure followed for the Gadoon Industrial Estate.Speaking at the meeting, Riaz Arshad highlighted concerns about NEPRA rules on disconnections and said that no connection should be severed due to a one-month bill default.

Engr Akhtar Hamid assured the swift resolution of the bifurcation of the 11 KV Olympia Feeder, aiming to energise the feeder within one week. He also disclosed plans to appoint three additional linemen to supplement the existing staff of two linemen available for 24-hour duty at Sub-Division Offices IE.

Furthermore, the Pesco chief directed the manager commercial of Pesco to address audit-related issues. The manager sought a list of affected parties along with their consumer numbers to expedite the resolution process.It was also decided during the meeting that a vehicle would be allocated by the CEO strictly for official use.
