LAHORE: Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif has taken notice of the death of a motorcycle rider in an accident in Narowal.
Reportedly, 23-year-old Abubakar died on the spot in a collision with a police car which was part of police motorcade escorting the CM at the Chandowal Stop on the Shakargarh Road on Thursday. The Punjab government spokesperson clarified that the CM visited Kartarpur via helicopter and was not traveling with any motorcade at the time of the incident. Abubakar’s mother Arifa Bibi said the police car had killed her son who was supporting the family. She said her husband, Fakhar Ayaz, was a labourer. She sought justice from the CM, saying that an FIR should be registered against the person responsible for the accident and he should be arrested. The Punjab government spokesperson stated the police, on the orders of the Punjab CM, have immediately registered a case and initiated an investigation.
