karachi: Noted journalist and the incharge of Daily Jang’s editorial page Syed Haider Taqi passed away in Karachi on Sunday after a long period of illness.
He was born in a family of international repute for intellectual, literary artistic and journalistic contributions. His father Syed Muhammad Taqi was a philosopher and former editor of Daily Jang while poet and columnist Raees Amrohvi and poet Jaun Elia were his uncles.
Haider was celebrated for his effortless wit and humour.
His funeral will be held today (Monday) at 1:30pm in Defence Phase IV Imambargah Yasrab which will be followed by his burial at the Defence Phase VIII graveyard. He has left behind his wife, a son and two daughters.
