PESHAWAR: Advisor to Chief Minister on Tourism, Culture and Archeology Zahid Chanzeb on Sunday stressed the need for early completion of tourism-related projects in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
“The provincial government will evaluate the performance of the departments on the basis of achievement of targets and not on mere claims.
The funds and staff of the department or institution that fails to meet the targets will be reduced, while the institutions that perform well will be encouraged and funded,” he told a meeting of the Kaghan Development Authority (KDA) and delegations of the elite from Mansehra.
KDA Director General Mohammad Shabbir apprised the adviser on tourism about the progress opening of the road to Mansehra to Saiful-Muluk Lake, hotel management, tourist facilities on highways and other schemes related to the tourism industry.
The briefing was also given on ongoing and new schemes for tourism development.
The tourism adviser directed the KDA to take concrete steps to develop tourism in the area and provide maximum facilities to the tourists.
He said that the provincial government would fulfill its prime responsibility of promoting tourism on a solid basis throughout the province.
Zahid Chanzeb was also briefed about work to reopen the Mansehra-Naran to Jhalkot (MNJ) Road.
The officials said that steps were underway to reopen Mansehra-Naran to Jalkhad (MNJ) Road with the support of the National Highway Authority.
