WANA: Member Provincial Assembly Asif Khan Mehsud said on Monday that construction work
on the Pakistan-China Economic Corridor (CPEC) Yarik Road to Jandola, Sararogha and Shawal would be initiated soon.
“There are issues in Upper South Waziristan district, which are being settled by Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur,” he told a delegation of journalists of Mehsud Press Club which called on him.
Mehsud Press Club President Farooq Mehsud led the delegation.The MPA said that CPEC authorities had already submitted PC-1 for the construction of road from Yarik to Jandola, Sararogha and Shawal, which will be approved soon.
He hoped the road would promote Pak-Afghan trade as well as facilitate the local residents
in the transportation of their goods and products to markets of other cities.The lawmaker informed the journalists that he had held a special meeting with the chief minister to seek compensation for those whose houses were destroyed during Operation Rah-e-Nejat.Asif Mehsud said that creating employment opportunities for the local people and developing agriculture in Upper South Waziristan were among his priorities.
