LANDIKOTAL: The Education Department officials distributed school bags among 199 orphans and poor children in Bazaar Zakhakhel area of Landikotal on Friday.
A ceremony was arranged at the Government Middle School Zarjan Killay in the Brag village. Residents, elders and teachers attended the function.
The Education Department official Hazrat Hussain was the chief guest while headmaster Sulaiman Shah, Mujahid Shah, Mubarak Shah, Malik Nadershah Afridi and others also attended the function. Teachers Association President Malik Nadar Shah Afridi said that they were committed to addressing the issues faced by teachers and the educational challenges of needy students.
He stressed on the contributions made by the generous individuals as it was because of the donations that children were being helped, urging everyone to take part in the charity work.Malik Nadershah Afridi asked the Education Department officials to announce special allowances for teachers serving in the hard areas.
