PESHAWAR: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leader Taimur Salim Jhagra on Saturday said that worst rigging was committed during the 2024 general election in the constituencies of the provincial capital.
Speaking at a press conference, he said that he received Form-45 on a post which had been recovered from a trash bin. Former minister Kamran Bangash and Arbab Jehandad were also present at the press conference.
Taimur Jhagra asked courts to avoid prolonging the cases related to election rigging and said “every candidate had some kind of proof of rigging.” The PTI leader said that nine returning officers, the capital city police officer and deputy commissioner should be investigated regarding the rigging.
He said that they would present the proofs to the Election Commission of Pakistan.
Kamran Bangash said that they had disclosed from the very first day that new Form-45 had been prepared.
He claimed that his votes at 51 polling stations out of 90 had been swapped with Tariq Awan on the PK-82. He said that his family had 25 voters but he had received only 11 at his home polling station. Kamran Bangash said that he had submitted an application through his lawyer.
He said that the returning officer and district returning officer should apologize to the public. He said the entire country would take to the streets against the rigging, saying that they would not let the issue be hushed up.
