LAHORE : A matriculation student attempted to end his life at the BISE office here on Saturday over his repeated failure in exams. Fortunately, he was stopped from jumping off the building by people nearby.
A BISE spokesperson said that the student had asked the board officials to pass him in the exams, or he would take drastic measures.
He said the student had faced failures in Mathematics and English exams in grades 9 and 10, and also did not pass the English supplementary exam in 2019. Additionally, he failed a Mathematics paper in 2020 and did not clear it in the supplementary exams. The student was counseled appropriately, which helped him stop committing suicide.
