PESHAWAR: The Pakistan Army has completed the preservation efforts at the mausoleum of Captain Kernal Sher Khan Shaheed (Nishan-e-Haider) in Swabi.
A communique said that the Pak Army undertook the preservation and adornment by responding to a request by the martyr’s family and the local community. The project was completed within four months.
The mausoleum now stands as a testament to the sacrifice and valour of Captain Kernal Sher Khan, it said, adding, it was decorated with commemorative photographs and items that illuminate the life and legacy of the revered martyr.
Corps Commander Peshawar Lieutenant General Hassan Azhar Hayat inaugurated the mausoleum at a ceremony. It marked the completion of the reconstruction and decoration. He paid homage to the martyr by laying flowers and reciting fateha.
The corps commander met the family of Captain Kernal Sher Khan Shaheed. He expressed profound respect and gratitude for the martyr’s service to the nation.
