LAHORE: Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) Chairman Mohsin Naqvi has stated that the national women’s cricket team still requires significant improvement.
In a media interaction, Naqvi expressed disappointment over Pakistan’s consecutive defeats against the West Indies women’s team. He revealed that the PCB is actively searching for a foreign coach for the national women’s team and is committed to taking the same measures for the women’s cricketers as for the men’s team.
“The PCB is taking proactive measures to address the shortcomings of the national women’s cricket team.”
Naqvi emphasised that the PCB’s revenue will be reinvested in cricket and will not be deposited in banks. He added that the National Stadium will be transformed into one of the world’s best stadiums.
Naqvi downplayed the ongoing FIA investigation involving PCB officials, stating that it is not a significant issue and that the PCB will resolve it internally. He questioned the rationale behind limiting the abilities of those performing well. Naqvi reiterated that the PCB is committed to hosting the Champions Trophy in Pakistan and is actively preparing for the event. He assured that the preparations will not be halted under any circumstances.
