JAMRUD: The activists of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) here on Friday staged a protest demanding the release of former prime minister Imran Khan, who is incarcerated at the Adiala Jail in Rawalpindi.
PTI leaders, including MNAs Sher Afzal Marwat and Iqbal Afridi, former federal minister Pir Noorul Haq Qadri, MPA Abdul Ghani Afridi and a large number of PTI workers participated in the protest.
Addressing the PTI workers, Sher Afzal Marwat said that former prime minister Imran Khan was jailed on the basis of fake FIRs. He claimed that the mandate of the PTI was stolen in the last general election. Imran Khan should be released forthwith or else the PTI workers would march towards Islamabad for his release, he added.
Sher Afzal said that PTI founder Imran Khan would not enter into any deal with anyone. He dispelled the impression that the former prime minister was looking for a deal to come out of the jail.
