LAHORE: Pakistan’s left-handed batsman Fakhar Zaman on Saturday said that doing training outside his ‘comfort zone’ has always helped him in raising his performance.
“Preparation counts a lot if you are out of touch and I believe in it. It counts whether I have prepared for an event within my comfort zone or out of the comfort zone,” Fakhar told a group of reporters here when asked about his turn around in form following hard time in the initial stages of the PSL.
“I felt and I also discussed with some people before going for the PSL that I had prepared within the comfort zone and so I struggled and when I prepare out of my comfort zone and make training difficult for me then I perform much better,” he said.
“When I was going to South Africa in 2021 I had missed New Zealand tour due to Covid and I had two months at my disposal and in those months I had trained hard and I was more confident. I had told my fielding coach Aftab Khan that I feel that I will hit double century on that tour. I need more preparation always,” he said.
Fakhar said that as a professional he is ready to bat at any position. “As a professional I am ready for any batting position but I am a sort of player who talks to the management and skipper that what is their plan for me and whatever is their plan I follow that. In T20 I normally bat at No 4.
