MANSEHRA: Residents of the Pulrah area have urged the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government to invest in road development and other infrastructure projects to boost tourism in the picturesque alpine destination of Koh-e-Bhengra.
Bakhtiar Tanoli, a resident of Pulrah and the tehsil headquarters of the newly designated Tanawal tehsil, stressed the need for infrastructure development to attract more visitors to Koh-e-Bhengra, known as the “land of shrines”.
Tanoli highlighted that Zahid Chanzeb, the Adviser to Chief Minister on Culture and Tourism, had pledged during his February 8 election campaign to uplift Tanawal, which has been neglected by previous governments.
“If roads and other infrastructure are developed, the number of visitors coming here from across the country to enjoy the soothing environment and natural beauty, despite the travel hardships, might increase significantly,” said Tanoli. Another local resident, Shamsur Rehman, pointed out the presence of the ancient Siri Ziarat in the alpine region, which adds to its cultural significance.
“Tanawal lags far behind in development compared to Kaghan Valley and Siran Valley. Therefore, the government should prioritise the construction of roads and other infrastructure here, along with providing employment opportunities to locals,” he added.
