PARACHINAR: Despite heavy rains, the students and teachers of various schools here on Saturday staged a protest against the killing of seven people in a firing incident last year on May 4.
The protesters, who had gathered outside the Parachinar Press Club, included members of the Teri Mangal tribe. Seven people, including four teachers, were gunned down at a high school in Teri Mangal area in Kurram tribal district last year on May 4. The protesters, including local tribal elders Jalal Bangash, Inayat Turi, Syed Javed Ali Shah, Abid Hussain, Ghulam Haider and others said that one year had passed, but the perpetrators of the attack could not be brought to justice. They said that instead of arresting the accused, the authorities had termed it a land dispute to absolve themselves of the responsibility.
