ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Air Force (PAF) and Army Sunday won their respective matches in the first PTF Inter-Department Tennis Trophy 2024 underway here at the PTF Tennis Complex. PAF defeated SNGPL 3-0 with Army winning by the same margin against Navy.
In the match between PAF and SNGPL, Yousaf Khalil (PAF) faced resistance from the upcoming youngster Ehtisham Humayun (SNGPL) as both the players were tied at 4-4 all.
In the 9th game, both the players played superbly to take the lead and ultimately Ehtisham kept the game in his favour by hitting some excellent ground shorts down the line. Yousaf came back aggressively in the next game and broke the 11th game of Ehtisham to build up the winning lead 6-5and by holding the 12th game finished the match at 7-5.
During the doubles match, the duo of Shoaib & Yousaf (PAF) did not allow their counterparts Ahmed & Saqib (SNGPL) to stay on the court and eliminated them in 6-1, 6-4 just in a 50-minute match. Muhammad Shoaib won the second singles easily.
Results: PAF beat SNGPL 3-0: Yousaf Khalil bt Ehtisham Humayun 6-2, 7-5: Muhammad Shoaib bt Saqib Hayat 6-1, 6-1: Muhammad Shoaib & Hamza Roman bt Saqib Hayat & Ahmed Babar 6-1, 6-4.
Army beat Navy 3-0: Capt. Arham Attique (Army) beat Faizan Fayyaz Khan (Navy) 6-1, 6-4; Muzammil Murtaza bt Asad Zaman (NAVY) 6-2, 6-2; Abdullah Adnan & Salar Khan bt Asad Zaman & Faizan Fayyaz Khan 6-4, 6-4.
