‘Police Facilitation on Wheels’ project launched

Islamabad:Dr. Akbar Niazi Teaching Hospital (ANTH) Islamabad Medical & Dental College (IMDC) hosted the Islamabad Capital Territory Police (ICTP) and Islamabad Traffic Police (ITP) for the launch of the ‘Police Facilitation on Wheels’ project on campus. Under this initiative, the police provided essential services such as driving license renewal, learner permit issuance, and other relevant assistance to students, faculty, and staff of IMDC and ANTH, says a press release.

The event marked a milestone in developing closer ties between law enforcement agencies and the educational and healthcare sectors.

The ceremony was attended by distinguished guests including Chief Traffic Officer Muhammad Sarfaraz Virk, AIG Establishment Arsalan Shahzeb, and other senior officials of ICTP. Dr. Areej Neyazi, Director of the Hospital, was nominated as the Healthcare and Medical Education Ambassador to ICTP and ITP with the unveiling of the police blazer with a batch during the event, underscoring the importance of healthcare institutions in promoting community welfare and road safety.

“We are thrilled to be part of this initiative which not only facilitates our community but also strengthens our bond with law enforcement agencies,” stated Yasir Khan Niazi, CEO of IMDC/ANTH. “This collaboration exemplifies our commitment to promoting road safety and public well-being.”

The event, attracted a large number of beneficiaries who availed themselves of the police services. Senior officials from IMDC/ANTH including Prof Dr Syed Irfan Ahmed, Principal of IMDC, and Dr. Khurshid Ahmad, Project Director, were present along with Col (R) Dr. Ghulam Mujtaba Abbasi, Executive Director of the Hospital, and Heads of Departments from various disciplines.

CTO Sarfaraz Virk, expressing appreciation for the partnership, conveyed gratitude to IMDC/ANTH management for their support in community outreach and road safety awareness and told media that ICTP and ITP are working hard on improving safety and security in the capital along with launching projects like “Police Facilitation on Wheels” to make essential services easier to avail for every citizen.
