ISLAMABAD: Bilawal Bhutto Zardari Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) Chairman has constituted a three members committee to engage government over privatisation issues.
The PPP committee comprised of parliamentary leader of the PPP in the Senate Sherry Rehman, Syed Naveed Qamar and Senator Saleem Mandviwalla. According to sources, the committee will hold its meeting with Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Senator Ishaq Dar on his return into Pakistan and will convey the PPP’s view on the privatisation policy of the coalition government.
The PPP has serious reservations on the government privatization policy especially on privatisation of Pakistan Steel Mills (PSM), Pakistan International Airline (PIA) and recently Bilawal, while addressing at a function in Karachi on the eve of May 1, had advocated for a pragmatic approach towards managing key institutions such as PIA and PSM.
