LAHORE:Punjab IG Dr Usman Anwar chaired a joint meeting of the experts of Punjab Safe Cities Authority (PSCA) and Punjab Information Technology Board in the Central Police Office. In the meeting, the vehicle registration plates and facial recognition software being completed in collaboration with Punjab Information Technology Board and Safe City Authority were reviewed. Testing of automatic registration number plate and facial recognition software and results obtained were discussed, while the progress of modern features and systems including videos and events management was also reviewed.
Dr Usman directed PITB to finalise the software as soon as possible and improve its results. He instructed that the latest cameras should be used to get the best results of the automatic number plate and face recognition system. He said that when the alert of the stolen vehicles coming in the automatic system is issued, quick recovery will be possible with the help of modern police applications. He said that crime control and public service delivery process will be improved with these advanced modern policing software.
