City remains in grip of heatwave

LAHORE:The provincial capital was hit by a severe heatwave as mercury reached 41.4°C on Tuesday while Met office predicted hot and dry weather for the next 24 hours. The day was hot and dry but in the evening some clouds were seen on the city skies. However, the weather remained hot and humid despite the clouds. Met officials said continental air was prevailing over most parts of the country. They predicted that mainly hot and dry weather was expected in most parts of the country while day temperatures were likely to increase gradually in plain areas. Tuesday’s highest maximum temperature was recorded at Dadu and Mithi where mercury reached 47°C while in Lahore it was 41.4°C and minimum was 26.3°C.
