A property dealer was killed in a firing incident in the Steel Town area on Wednesday. According to police reports, the incident occurred near Gulshan-e-Hadeed Arcade within the jurisdiction of the Steel Town police station.
Upon receiving information, police and rescue teams rushed to the crime scene. The victim was initially taken to a private hospital and later transferred to Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Centre. The deceased was identified as 55-year-old Chaudhry Pervaiz Ahmed, son of Noor Muhammad.
The police stated that unknown armed motorcyclists were responsible for the incident. While initial reports suggested that the victim was killed during a mugging attempt due to resistance, police suspected that personal enmity might be the motive, as neither the victim’s cellphone nor wallet was stolen. The deceased, a property dealer, sustained at least four gunshot wounds, with 30 bore pistol shells found at the crime scene.
Hailing from Mirpurkhas, the victim resided in Steel Town. His funeral prayers were held at a local mosque in Phase II, Gulshan-e-Hadeed, attended by a large number of individuals, including social and political figures. No case was registered till the filing of this news story, and further investigations are underway.
