PESHAWAR: The Peshawar High Court (PHC) on Wednesday issued notices to the relevant officials for suspending the license of Adviser to Chief Minister on Zakat, Ushar, Social Welfare and Women’s Development Mashal Yousafzai.
A bench comprising Chief Justice Ishtiaq Ibrahim and Justice Sahibzada Asadullah heard her writ petition.
Qazi Anwar Advocate appearing for the petitioner told the bench that the police had manhandled Alamzeb Advocate at the gate o the high court. He said that Mashal Yousafzai, who was present on the occasion, had mentioned the incident on her social media account. He said that the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Bar Council had suspended her license after her post. However, he said that the KP Bar Council chairman had restored her license later. He said that the Pakistan Bar Council had suspended the restoration of her license. The chief justice remarked that was it suitable for a lawyer to use such words in her social media post? Qazi Anwar agreed and said it was not suitable for a lawyer to use such words. The court issued notices to the respondents and adjourned the hearing into the case till May 14.
