RAWALPINDI: A local court on Thursday extended judicial remand of a woman, who rammed her car into a police personnel on a motorway, till May 16.
The suspect, who has been identified as Farah, was presented in Civil Judge Mumtaz Hanjra’s court. The woman requested the court to declare her house as a prison because there were “extreme difficulties” in the prison as she was still an accused. The judge replied that she would be kept in the prison until bail is granted. The accused woman was arrested in connection with an FIR filed against her in Rawalpindi’s Naseerabad Police Station. The woman is accused of attempted murder and obstructing state affairs after she ran over a police officer when she was stopped on the motorway. The FIR had been filed on January 2.
However, police only sprang into action after the video of the incident went viral on social media. The car involved in the incident has also been taken into custody.
