PESHAWAR: PMLN MPA from PK-82 Malik Tariq Awan on Thursday secured interim bail from an Anti-Terrorism Court (ATC) to evade the arrest in a case instituted against him.

The MPA was booked recently for allegedly attacking the hujra or male guest house of MNA from NA-32 in Peshawar from Sunni Ittehad Council/Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), Asif Khan. The incident happened on Charsadda Road near the Faqirabad Police Station where the hujra and residence of the PTI lawmaker are situated. A case was registered against Malik Tariq accusing him of attacking the hujra of Asif Khan, beating up the security guard deputed there and firing into the air to create a scare. Later, anti-terrorism sections were added to the case. Malik Tariq moved the ATC to secure interim bail. The court granted him bail till May 11 and stopped police from arresting him.
