karachi: A sessions court has awarded seven-year imprisonment to a man in a robbery case.
Nisar Ali Khan alias Dilshad Ali Khan was found guilty of looting a citizen, Mohammad Azam, along with his absconding accomplice, in the Khokhrapar area in January 2021.
Additional Sessions Judge (East) Shahid Ali Memon ruled that the prosecution successfully proved its case against the accused beyond a reasonable doubt, sentencing him to undergo seven years of rigorous imprisonment.
The accused, who turned up in court on bail, was subsequently taken into custody and remanded to prison to serve out the sentence.
According to state prosecutor S Khursheed Bukhari, on January 5, 2021, complainant Mohammad Azam was returning home from work when two persons on a motorcycle intercepted him near Al-Mustafa Hospital in Khokhrapar. One of them took out a pistol and robbed him of his laptop worth Rs65,000, Rs7,000 in cash, two mobile phones, documents and an ATM card.
