LAHORE:Leading people of different fields honoured the services of nurses and mothers at an event organised at YMCA Hall to mark International Day of Nurses and Mother’s Day the other day.
Director General Nursing Tahira Sagir was the guest of honour on the occasion and Bishop of Lahore Rt Rev Nadeem Kamran presided over the function and distributed shield of honour among the people of distinction.
Principal Shaikh Zayed Nursing School, Buhsra Nawaz, Naila Maqbool (Sir Ganga Ram) Madam Rubina (Mayo College of Nursing) and Ghulam Nabi also attended the event. YMCA president Asghar Suleman welcomed the guests.
YMCA secretary general Emanuel Sarfraz briefed the participants on new initiatives taken for youth’s physical and mental development. He said only good and positive mothers can be the catalysts of change in society. YMCA Director John William spoke about the problems faced by nurses and young girls who want to join the nursing profession.
