According to recent statements by Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, there are currently around 26 million out-of-school children in the country. As a result, the PM has declared an education emergency and I agree with his stance that the out-of-school children need to be in school. However, would it not be better to first gather some information on the root causes of this state of affairs so that we can understand why so many children are not in school?
My understanding is that this is mainly due to the ongoing hyperinflation, which leaves many families unable to afford an education. The incumbent government must take such measures to minimize such problems.
