Parcel containing crystal meth seized at Karachi airport

karachi: Personnel of the Pakistan Customs at the International Mail Office (IMO) at Karachi airport have thwarted an attempt to smuggle crystal meth worth millions of rupees.

Syed Irfan Ali, a spokesman for the customs, stated on Tuesday that during routine scanning at the IMO, a suspicious parcel originating from Canada was identified.

The parcel, addressed to Saeed Ahmed of Shop No. 75, Welfare Complex, Malir Cantonment, Karachi, was flagged for further inspection.

Upon thorough examination, customs officials discovered 480 grams gross weight and 255 grams net weight of crystal methamphetamine, valued at Rs3,828,060.

The substance was confirmed to be crystal meth following tests conducted by an authorised laboratory. An FIR has been lodged.
