KP govt requests SC for live broadcast of NAB amendments case

ISLAMABAD: The Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa (KP) government has requested the Supreme Court (SC) to broadcast live the proceedings of federal government’s appeal against NAB amendments judgment in the public interest.

KP Additional Advocate General Syed Kausar Ali Shah filed an application in the apex court on Monday, requesting for live broadcast of Intra-Court Appeal (ICA), filed by the federal government against its decision, striking down some of the amendments, made by the former coalition PDM government in national Accountability Ordinance (NAO) 1999. The KP government submitted that as cases related to public importance are being broadcast live from Court Room No 1, proceedings of NAB amendments case should also be broadcasted live.
