LAHORE: IG Dr Usman Anwar took notice of a viral video on social media and directed legal action against a woman car driver who abused Traffic Warden Shahid Hussain.
Dr Usman Anwar invited Traffic Warden Shahid Hussain to his office and paid tribute to him for showing patience. The IG gave a certificate of appreciation and cash reward to Shahid Hussain. According to a spokesman for Punjab Police, Traffic Warden Shahid Hussain was performing his duties at Siddique Trade Centre Fawara Chowk on May 18, there was traffic pressure due to a rally. At the same time, a woman in the unknown car ran away from the spot after abusing the traffic officer. Shahid Hussain, traffic officer on duty, showed great patience and said thank you in response to the abuse.
The unethical behaviour of the woman in the car was captured by a citizen present in the rally on his mobile phone and the said video went viral on social media. Girl rescued: Safe City Project Monday rescued a girl from her home and shifted her to a shelter home.
