Rangers DG orders operation against riverine area bandits be brought to logical conclusion

KARACHI: Sindh Rangers Director General (DG) Major General Azhar Waqas visited rural Sindh’s Katcha areas, where he directed that the operation against bandits in the Katcha area, in collaboration with the police, be brought to a logical conclusion.

High-ranking police and Rangers officers were also present during the visit. The sector commander briefed the Rangers chief about the ongoing operation.

According to the Rangers spokesperson, since March 2024, during 45 joint operations against the Arsala Sabzoi, Nandwani, Kokari, and Belo Banglani gangs involved in highway robberies and kidnappings for ransom on the National Highway, 127 criminals have been arrested.

In total, the Sindh Rangers have conducted 122 operations, arresting 329 dacoits and criminals, recovering large quantities of weapons, ammunition, and drugs.

During the operations, the hideouts of Arsala Sabzoi and Belo Banglani gangs in Kandhkot were demolished. As a result of the operations, 109 abductees were also rescued.

The spokesperson said that the Rangers DG conducted an aerial survey of the bandits’ hideouts and issued instructions to increase patrolling and further activate checkpoints on the Motorway and Indus Highway to ensure the safe movement of citizens.

He also issued instructions to prepare lists of individuals facilitating bandits and dacoits, take legal action against them, and ensure the protection of citizens’ lives and property.
