Two workers die after falling into sugarcane tank

LAHORE:Two workers died after falling into a sugarcane juice tank at a flour mill on Multan Road in the Chuhng police area here Wednesday.

According to reports, a sugarcane tank was being filled with juice extracted from sugarcane at a flour mill on Multan Road, Chuhng. During this process, a pipe of the tank became blocked. While attempting to repair it, two workers, identified as 60-year-old Aslam Hameed and 25-year-old Nauman Rasheed, fell into the tank. The rescue team retrieved the bodies from the tank and shifted to mortuary.

Man held for harassing female students

The Virtual Women Police Station has apprehended a man for harassing female students on Wednesday. According to details, Emergency Helpline 15 received a report of school-going girls being harassed. The caller stated that a man followed and made gestures at the girls daily on their way to school. The Virtual Women Police Station promptly dispatched a team to the scene.

The police arrested the suspect on the spot with the help of the girls' identification. The Safe Cities spokesperson stated that women can contact the Virtual Women Police Station in any emergency by calling 15 and pressing 2. So far, in over 6,000 cases, women have sought assistance from the Virtual Women Police Station.
