MULTAN: Acting President Syed Yusuf Raza Gilani praised the business community for their contributions to the national economy and promised to address their concerns in the upcoming federal budget.
He made these remarks during a luncheon hosted by industrialist Mian Tanvir A Sheikh, former president of Multan Chamber of Commerce and Industry, on Thursday. Gilani said President Asif Ali Zardari had always encouraged friendly countries, including China, to invest in Pakistan.
He extolled the president’s role in launching the game-changer China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC). The business community congratulated Gilani for his election as Senate chairman. During his three-day stay, the Gilani will meet various delegations.
