Passerby killed in crossfire

LAHORE: A 28-year-old passerby was killed in an incident of firing between two groups in the Raiwind police area on Thursday.

According to Raiwind Police, Rana Zahid was not paying Rs90,000 he had borrowed from Naeem. On the day of the incident, the accused Rana Naeem, Waseem and Akram had an exchange of hot words with Zahid over the issue. Meanwhile, they whipped out their weapons and opened fire, as a result of which, a passerby, Ashraf alias Achhu, sustained wounds. The accused escaped from the scene. The injured Ashraf was rushed to hospital where he died.

Girl dies: A 10-year-old girl was killed in a house in the Sattukatla police area on Thursday. The victim was identified as Amina. Police said that the accused Allah Rakha and his accomplices had an exchange of hot words with the parents of Amina over a marriage issue and opened fire. As a result, Amina sustained fatal wounds. The accused escaped from the scene. The injured Amina was taken to hospital where she died.
