Islamabad: The Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) has arrested an alleged human smuggler, identified as Muhammad Nawaz, from Attock, involved in human smuggling and visa fraud, a spokesman of the FIA said.
The suspect had allegedly deceived a citizen by fudging him a job in Malta and had taken a large sum of money from him, the FIA said. The FIA's Anti-Human Smuggling Circle in Rawalpindi, upon receiving complaint from the victim, conducted a raid and arrested the suspect, who had received a total of Rs1.18 million from the complainant. The suspect had gone into hiding after receiving the money. The FIA has started investigating the matter and the suspect will be charged accordingly. This action by the FIA is a significant step in combating human smuggling and visa fraud in Pakistan, the FIA concluded.
