PTI condemns stopping Omar Ayub, other PTI MPs from entering court

ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf spokesman Monday condemned, what he alleged, the forcible occupation of the anti-terrorism court by the government.

He said that Leader of the Opposition in the National Assembly and PTI Secretary General Omar Ayub was barred from entering the anti-terrorism court (ATC) in Sargodha along with other elected MPs.

“We strongly condemn it and urge the Supreme Court to take immediate notice of this dark incident of police brutality, strict action against Punjab chief minister, home minister, chief secretary and IG,” he noted. He also demanded of the National Assembly Speaker to take immediate action against them.

The Punjab government, he charged, has violated parliament and the court by forcibly stopping the opposition leader, PTI’s nominated deputy parliamentary leader Ahmed Chattha and several parliamentarians from entering the anti-terrorism court in Sargodha.

The Chief Justice of Pakistan and the chief justice of the Lahore High Court, he emphasised, should immediately take notice of the incident and take action against those responsible for this open interference in judicial affairs.
