Maryam discusses public grievances with ombudsman

LAHORE: To discuss matters related to administration, good governance, public grievances and their redress mechanism in the province, Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz met Provincial Ombudsman Major (retd) Azam Suleman Khan, here on Monday.

“We are committed to ensuring equal access to services by every citizen,” said the Punjab CM during the meeting.

She was briefed by the provincial ombudsman about various steps taken by his department to address the public complaints and disputes. She was presented the annual report in this regard. The CM also reviewed different recommendations for improvement of services in the province.

Separately, Punjab CM Maryam Nawaz took notice of an incident of alleged rape of a five-year-old boy in Arifwala’s village Jeevan Shah, and sought a report from the Inspector General of Police in this regard.

Also, the CM expressed sorrow and grief over the death of six persons of a family in a road accident near Kallar Kahar. She extended heartfelt sympathies and condolences to the bereaved family. She directed the administration to provide the best treatment facilities to the injured. She also ordered to initiate action against the persons involved in negligence.
