PESHAWAR: The Peshawar High Court (PHC) on Thursday granted a transitory bail to the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf/ Sunni Ittehad Council (PTI/SIC) Member National Assembly Shandana Gulzar.
Justice Shakeel Ahmed allowed the bail to the legislator till July 8 and asked her to appear in the relevant court by that date. The counsel for Shandana Gulzar submitted to the court that a case had been registered against his client in Balochistan.
He said his client was a lawmaker and that she wanted to appear in court but feared arrest, adding transitory bail was hence needed. It is worth mentioning that a case was lodged against MNAs Shandana Gulzar, Shehryar Khan Afridi and other PTI leaders at the police station concerned after they made speeches at the “The rule of law conference” in Quetta, the provincial capital of Balochistan. The PTI leaders turned to the PHC for the transitory bail after the registration of the case.
