Ex-Czech FA deputy head sentenced for embezzlement: report

PRAGUE: Former deputy Czech Football Association (FACR) head Roman Berbr was handed a three-year sentence suspended for five years for embezzlement on Wednesday, Czech media said. The 69-year-old former international referee was found guilty of embezzling a regional football association´s money but he was acquitted on charges of match-fixing and being a part of an organised crime group. Berbr also has to pay a fine of 2 million Czech koruna ($86,000), said the local news agency CTK.
