MULTAN: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PT) central leader and Deputy Parliamentary Leader in the National Assembly, Zain Hussain Qureshi, said that PTI is not hesitant to engage in political dialogue, but their primary demand is the formation of a commission to investigate the tragedy of May 9.

The PTI firmly believes that those innocent in this tragedy should be released immediately, while those involved should be held accountable, Zain said demanding the immediate release of PTI founder Imran Khan, Shah Mehmood Qureshi, and thousands of workers.

He stressed the need for a commission to investigate the results of the February 8 elections, questioning how a party with only 16 seats came to power, which they believe is unjust.

Speaking to journalists at the shrine of Hazrat Bahauddin Zakaria after offering Eid prayers, Zain Qureshi praised the sacrifices of Imran Khan and Shah Mahmood Qureshi for a noble cause. He expressed hope for justice to prevail, citing Qureshi’s recent acquittal in the cipher case.

Regarding the possibility of forming a government with the PPP, Zain Qureshi said that the PPP had expressed interest in a coalition government with PTI, but PTI declined, maintaining a principled stance. He affirmed that there is no internal discord within PTI and that the party remains united. Despite challenges such as being stripped of election symbols and facing pressure, Zain Hussain Qureshi highlighted that the people’s support for PTI demonstrates its potential as a party of the future.

Zain acknowledged the hardships faced by Shah Mehmood Qureshi, who is celebrating his second Eid away from family and friends. He expressed faith in divine justice and the judiciary, expressing hope for Qureshi’s release.

Zain Qureshi prayed for the country’s progress, security, and the release of PTI leaders and visited the graves of his elders.
