Mystery resolved as police say stepbrother killed boy

LAHORE: The case of the mysterious disappearance of a boy from Muzaffar Colony, Nishtar Colony, was resolved after his body was recovered from a drum placed on the roof of the house.

According to the police, the victim Haseeb was killed by his stepbrother Ali Asghar, who hid the victim’s body in a drum on the roof of the house. Ali Asghar, the accused, was still at large.

Three injured in Multan Road fire: The fire that erupted following explosions at a gas cylinder shop on Multan Road was successfully brought under control.

Three individuals sustained injuries and several rickshaws were damaged due to the explosions.

Eyewitnesses reported hearing a series of explosions caused widespread panic in the area. Upon receiving the emergency call, Rescue 1122 and a substantial police contingent swiftly arrived at the accident site and commenced firefighting operations.

According to rescue sources, the initial explosion in a gas cylinder triggered a fire that rapidly engulfed the entire shop, leading to subsequent explosions of other cylinders.

59 drug pushers held: Punjab Police conducted 201 raids on drug dealers' hideouts across the province, including Lahore during the last 24 hours.

Police registered 56 cases and apprehended 59 drug pushers.

A Punjab Police spokesperson reported that since February 26, a total of 31,523 raids have been conducted as part of anti-narcotics efforts throughout the province.

As many as 15,368 individuals involved in drug trafficking have been arrested, and 14,729 cases have been registered against them.

Crackdown on underage drivers: A special crackdown on underage drivers continued during the Eid-ul-Azha holidays.

On the first and second day of Eid, action was taken against 2,918 underage motorcyclists. However, the citizens were not issued fines for minor violations.
