ICC approves Champions Trophy schedule

LAHORE: The International Cricket Council (ICC) has officially approved the schedule for the Champions Trophy proposed by Pakistan.

The prestigious tournament is set to take place in Pakistan next year. The event will run from February 19 to March 9 in various cities across Pakistan, with key matches and the final scheduled in Lahore.

The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) had submitted the proposed schedule to the ICC several weeks ago. With the ICC’s approval now secured, the PCB is set to share the finalised schedule with other cricket boards next week. This step is crucial for coordinating with participating teams and finalizing logistical arrangements.

Sources have revealed that all matches involving the Indian cricket team are expected to be held in Lahore, including the much-anticipated final.

PCB officials are optimistic about Indian team’s participation. “We are delighted with the ICC’s approval of our proposed schedule. This is a major step forward in our preparations for the Champions Trophy. We are hopeful and optimistic about the participation of all teams, including India, and are committed to delivering a successful and memorable tournament,” a PCB official stated.

ICC reviewed the schedule in detail and will now send the schedule to the other 7 countries, Australia, England, India, and South Africa, in the Champions Trophy hosted by Pakistan. Africa, Bangladesh, New Zealand and Afghanistan are included.

According to the proposed schedule, the matches of the Indian team have been held in Lahore, the final will also be held in Lahore. There was no talk of coming, teams from other countries have come to Pakistan and played all three series.
