Karachi Mayor Murtaza Wahab on Sunday drove Sindh Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah to different areas of the city to check civic conditions there.
The two toured the city without official protocol. The mayor briefed the CM on ongoing preparations of the municipality for the upcoming monsoon rains. At the Nursery intersection on main Sharea Faisal, Wahab informed Shah about work being carried out to de-silt a storm water drain there.
Later, the mayor took the CM to Baloch Colony to inspect the ongoing de-silting work and choking points of storm water drains. Wahab also briefed the CM about the clogged portions of the storm water drain near Tipu Sultan Road.
Shah directed Wahab to get the clogged points cleared immediately. The CM said all the necessary development funds had been released by the Sindh government so there should be no slackness in performing vital municipal services.
“Those who used to criticise the Peoples Party’s Sindh government will continue with their critique as our job is to continue with our service,” said the CM while talking to the mayor.
