Islamabad: The Islamabad Model College for Boys I-8/3 is undergoing a transformative renovation and expansion during summer vacation.
The initiative will ensure modern and enhanced learning for students by addressing infrastructure gaps and offering essential facilities to support their development, according to principal Prof Shahid Mehmood Abbasi. He told 'The News' that the college would successfully execute the project by July 31, to the benefit of 1,900 students, including 1,300 in the morning shift and 600 in the evening.
"Under the project, all classrooms will be painted and the outlook of the campus improved," he said. The principal said with the construction of new rooms and other structures already under way, the establishment of a modern computer lab with 40 advanced computers as well as the creation of seven smart classrooms were also on the cards to digitalise education.
He said science labs would get modern equipment to provide students with access to the latest technology and resources for better learning. “There will also be an infirmary to ensure students’ better health on campus, an open gym to promote their fitness, and a filtration plant to provide them with clean drinking water. We'll also set up a state-of-the-art library as a comprehensive knowledge resource to cater to their academic needs,” he said. Prof Abbasi also said the college auditorium would be renovated, while washrooms would be upgraded with the installation of new floor tiles.
