ISLAMABAD: Advisor to Ministry of Law and Justice Barrister Aqeel Malik on Tuesday asked why reserved seats should be given to the Sunni Ittehad Council (SIC) even though its head didn't contest the election on his party's platform.
Addressing a press conference, Malik said that the top court had reserved its verdict on the reserved seats.
He said that people of a political party participated in the elections as independent candidates but now Hamid Raza was demanding reserved seats for SIC. Barrister Aqeel said that SIC did not field even a single candidate in the elections, adding the party's constitution was also in conflict with the Constitution of Pakistan.
