The Sindh Services, General Administration & Coordination Department on Wednesday ordered the local government and housing & town planning additional chief secretary (ACS), and all the divisional commissioners in the province to urgently remove all hoardings that pose a danger to public safety.
The letter moved to the ACS and others reads that the Met Office has forecast heavy rains in the province, and that given the devastation caused by torrential rains in recent years, it is imperative to implement safety measures to protect lives and properties.
It said that the presence of large hoardings on buildings and other structures poses a significant risk, particularly during thunderstorms and heavy rains, and that the Supreme Court has also mandated the removal of such dangerous installations.
The letter stated that all illegal, unauthorised and hazardous hoardings must be promptly dismantled to ensure the safety of people and the protection of properties.

Sindh Environment, Climate Change and Coastal Development Minister Dost Muhammad Rahimoon visited Ibrahim Hyderi and other areas to review development projects. He also met with the notables of Ibrahim Hyderi.
After listening to their issues, he assured them that the provincial government is focusing on development projects in Karachi. He said that special attention is being given to the development of the coastal areas to improve the lives of the residents.
He stressed that the government aims to provide excellent infrastructure in the urban areas and to effectively address the impacts of climate change, along with the protection of the environment in the coastal regions.
