Childhood crime spree: Bike thieves aged 9, 10 and 13 arrested

LAHORE : In a surprising twist, Johar Town police dismantled a gang of young bike thieves on Saturday, arresting three boys aged 9, 10, and 13, and recovering three stolen bikes from their possession.

The pint-sized perpetrators, identified as nine-year-old Zohaib, ten-year-old Azmat, and thirteen-year-old Mughees, were found to be involved in numerous bike-lifting incidents, highlighting an alarming trend of youth crime.

Police have launched a comprehensive investigation into the case, aiming to uncover the full extent of this juvenile crime ring and make further arrests.

Man held for kidnapping girl

Hanjarwal police on Saturday arrested a man for taking a 17-year-old girl hostage.

Victim Sakina left home for a bazaar when her neighbour Sikandar allegedly abducted her. On information, police conducted a raid and arrested the suspect and recovered the girl.

A case has been registered against the suspect. Further investigation was under way.

Suspected molester injured in ‘encounter’

A suspected molester was shot at and injured in an alleged police encounter in Badami Bagh on Saturday. A police team signalled two motorcyclists to stop near fish market, but instead of stopping they opened fire at the cops. In exchange of firing, the suspect identified as Munir Hussain was wounded and his accomplice fled from the scene. Police shifted him to a hospital and booked him. Reportedly, the accused the other day raped a 10-year-old girl.

PSCA reunites missing child with parents

The Punjab Safe Cities Authority (PSCA) has reunited a missing child with his parents. According to details, an 8-year-old child, a resident of Garden Town, lost his way to his home. Parents reported the missing child to the police helpline (15). Meanwhile, the Safe City Lost and Found Centre received information about a found child. A team cross-referenced the information and reunited the child with his parents. After verification, Garden Town Police handed the child over to his parents.
