Rawalpindi:In a tragic incident in the Noorani Mohalla area of R. A Bazaar, a government employee brutally slaughtered his two daughters using a sharp weapon during a domestic dispute. The attacker also severely injured his wife, brother and a passerby.
The wounded individuals have been transferred to a hospital for medical treatment. The suspect, identified as a technician working for a government agency, has been arrested. According to the police, the government employee, Usman, used a sharp object to attack his family during a domestic altercation. The attack resulted in the death of his two daughters, 13-year-old Anoosh and 5-year-old Laraib, on the spot. The children’s mother sustained severe injuries. Additionally, a passerby who tried to intervene was also attacked and injured. The injured individuals were immediately taken to the hospital for medical assistance. The police have arrested the assailant at the scene and are investigating the incident further.
A spokesman for Rescue-1122, when contacted, told this correspondent that at about 10 a.m on Monday, a woman sustaining multiple wounds, including a cut on her throat, was observed running towards bike-riding rescuers of Rescue-1122, deployed at Azizabad Chowk. She requested the rescuers for help, saying that her husband had attacked her and her two daughters.
Meanwhile, the attacker, chasing his wife, reached the spot and attacked her again, but the people overpowered him and handed him over to the police. The rescuers provided her medical aid and shifted her to the hospital. On their way to the hospital, she told the rescuers that her husband had slaughtered her two daughters at home. The rescuers informed the police about the incident. Consequently, the police reached her house along with her husband, recovered the two slaughtered girls, and shifted the bodies to the hospital for post-mortem. The two slaughtered girls were identified as Anoosh, 13, and 5-year-old Laraib, who sustained deep cuts on their throats and died on the spot, the hospital sources said.
The sources said that the woman, identified as Ayesha Usman, 32, sustained multiple cuts on different parts of her body, including deep cuts on her throat, face, hand and the middle of her head. A passerby, a student of a local academy named Abdul Rehman, 18, sustained a cut on his throat. His younger brother was also wounded during the knife rampage who were shifted to the hospital.
