LAHORE: Punjab Governor Sardar Saleem Haider said in his message on the occasion of Ashura Day that courage, bravery and eternal sacrifice of Hazrat Imam Hussain (RA) and the martyrs of Karbla would always be remembered in history. He has said that the martyrs of Karbala taught the oppressed humanity not to bow down to falsehood and stand firm against oppression.
The governor said that the incident of Karbala is a testament to the unparalleled determination and courage of Hazrat Imam Hussain (RA) and his companions. Ashura reminds us of the great sacrifices of the Karbala martyrs, it also teaches us to show patience and perseverance in the hour of trial. He said that we should awaken within ourselves the same spirit of sacrifice and solidarity which was demonstrated by Imam Hussain (RA) and his companions in the field of Karbala.
Besides, governor strongly condemned the terrorist attack on Bannu Cantonment.
He saluted the military personnel who thwarted the terrorist attack. He paid tribute to the martyred soldiers. He said that the entire nation is indebted to the sacrifices of the security forces, adding the sacrifices of those who laid down their lives can never be forgotten.
He said that the nation stands with its security agencies in the war against terrorism.
