LAHORE: The first-ever narcotics control police station has become fully functional in the City.
The police station has been established in Shadman, where lock-up of the Excise Department, located at Fareed Court House, would be used. Police official Rizwan Sherwani said the police station would help control drug-trafficking. He said the officials deputed at the police station would conduct intelligence-based operations against drug-traffickers. Cases will be registered and investigated with the help of the ANF and the police, he added. Rizwan said more such police stations would be established in other regions in phases, adding that employees were being taken on deputation basis from the Excise branch to meet human resources.
