LAHORE:Twelve people were arrested while nine cases registered against profiteers in various parts of the provincial capital during the last 24 hours.
Assistant Commissioners in their respective areas conducted a surprise inspections and got arrested 12 individuals involved in 64 profiteering activities while a fine totaling Rs200,000 was also imposed.
The district administration officers are currently mobilised in the field to enforce stringent measures against hoarding and ensure availability and fair pricing of essential commodities at retail and mega stores, said Deputy Commissioner Rafia Haider. She emphasised ongoing efforts to monitor and stabilise market prices, affirming the Punjab government’s commitment to providing relief to citizens as per the direction of Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz.
